Latest casualties in Wimbledon were 3rd ranked Jelena Jankovic and no. 4 Svetlana Kuznetsova. Jankovic was defeated by another Asian, Tamarine Tanasugarn who is from Thailand. This means, all top 4 players were out of Wimbledon. The remaining top 10 are, Elena Dementieva (5), Serena Williams (6) and Venus Williams (7). As for men's singles, out of top 10 ranked players, only Roger Federer (1) and Rafael Nadal (2) remain in the competition.
This is the most shocking Wimbledon history. All top players were ousted. Could we have unseeded player to win the championship this year? We will find out soon.
In the meantime, Jie Zheng of China survived 4th round by defeating Agnes Szavay (15).
