And the winner is......

Oppss sorry. The real winner is...

And Jason Castro sang "Halelluiah" which I love most...

Round 1 (Clive Davis's choice)

David Cook - Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For
David Archuleta - Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me

comments : Archuleta sang like he never did before. He looks like he really wants to win, and this is about a competition, right? But Cook was playing it safe.

....and round 1 goes to Archuleta

Round 2 (Contestant's choice from Songwriting Contest)

David Cook - Dream Big
David Archuleta - In This Moment

comments : Cook is back! That's what we call the spirit of 'fighting'. And this round, it was Archuleta who played safe.

....and round 2 goes to Cook

Round 3 (Contestant's choice)

David Cook - The World I know
David Archuleta - Imagine

comments : Cook took the risk by picking a song he never did during the competition. I thought he might sing The Music of the Night but he didn't. Even Cowell also disappointed as he wished Cook to sing either Billie Jean or Hello. As predicted, Archuleta closed the competition with his Imagine and what a superb performance!

....and round 3 goes to Archuleta

Having said everything, I still think Archuleta will win. But we never know what will happen. It's up to the Americans whom and how they vote.

Can't wait for the results! Stay tuned!

When Ryan announced Syesha is safe I can see Jason's relieved face. He accepted the result with big grin. I think he knows by now whether he is safe now or later he won't be in the finals. So it's better to leave early rather than suffering a heartache when you are almost there and yet so far. I wish Jason the best. His elimination is similar to Chris Daughtry. Look at Chris now. He is more popular than Taylor!

So, we have our final 3. This is the week that they will go back to their hometown (I think). And next week they will perform three songs. One will be chosen by the judges. My prediction is Paula will choose for Cook, Simon to Archuleta and Randy to Mercado. This will be the best week! Stay tuned.

"I want more!..." said Paula. Yes. I want more too. Can't get enough :D

David Cook
He chose 'Hungry Like a Wolf' and 'Baba O'Reilly'. His performance by now is predictable. So, I was like "ok. he did it again". I hope he doesn't bore me towards the end of the competition :)

Syesha Mercado
She sang 'Proud Mary' and 'A Change is Gonna Come'. I agree with Cowell, she was shrieking the first song but I like the second song. I can really feel her singing. A superstar indeed!

Jason Castro
He chose Bob Marley's 'I Shot the Sheriff' because their hair looks alike  Poor him, I think he did pretty well but he received negative comments from the judges. Oh well! Then I said, "come on Castro, show them what you got" I was already enjoying his second song, another Bob but this time it was from Bob Dylan 'Mr. Tambourine Man' then suddenly he was humming! Oh dear, he forgot his lyrics. Jason, I hope your fan base is really strong! Good luck to you.

David Archuleta
He saved the best for the last. I couldn't agree more coz for the last few weeks he was deteriorating. He came back with 'Stand By Me' and an improvised 'Love Me Tender'. David A is back! And what a time to come back - a crucial stage!

So who is going home? And please don't forget, this the stage of the competition where Chris Daughtry got eliminated. I don't think it's Archuleta.

It could be Mercado? Cook? Castro? Oh no! I can't choose. Let's just watch for the result.

Mariah Carey is one of favourite singers. She is so talented and I think so far, she is still one of the best in the world. So, when you sing her songs, you better make the best of it. Many people take the risk and many of them 'murdered' her songs :)

During AI7 top 7 performance, David Cook and Jason Castro were outstanding. The songs they performed sounded refreshing. Kristy Lee Cook has done a good job too. It was nice to listen Mariah Carey's song in a country version.

I predicted Carly Smithson to leave but as we all know by now, she is safe. It was Kristy Lee Cook instead. Kristy improved a lot compared to Carly which is going down week by week.

I love to see David A, David C and Jason Castro in the finals. Could AI7 make it happen? How I wish!

Since my broadband is still unstable, I have to give my review very short.

This week's theme is songs that inspire the contestants.

Michael Johns
I love Dream On but Michael just sang it like the way Steve Tyler did it. And he didn't even close to Steve.

Syesha Mercado
I don't like her version of I Believe. Don't ever pick songs from the previous winners of American Idol if you are not as good as them.

Jason Castro
I know Over the Rainbow is Cowell's favourite and it has been sung by Kathrine McPhee on AI5. Jason is Superb!

Kristy Lee Cook
She will safe again! another week for making Anyway so wonderful.

David Cook
I think he was not feeling well. Innocent was not good from him.

Carly Smithson
The Show Must Go On. I hope so, Carly! Otherwise it would be your last show.

David Archuleta
He is an Angels indeed!

Brooke White
You've Got a Friend from her was just a so-so performance.

If Ryan pull three to be at the bottom, I'm gonna choose Michael, David C & Carly. If it is two then my pick will be David C & Carly. Carly might go home tonight.

I've got a confession to make :) I was actually choosing Brooke White to be in the bottom three. But when I think that she is lovable by everybody, I changed my mind and picked Syesha instead. Why? Because Syesha was always in the bottom three just like Kristy Lee Cook. So it's easy to pick one of them.

And again, in my head, I thought Ramiele will be heading home but I shrug off the thoughts coz I really want her to stay. Why? because I haven't seen the best of her. But then American has made the decision.

Who is going home next? Stay tuned for more American Idol 7!

This week the top 9 did Dolly Parton's songs with Dolly herself act as their mentor.

I don't know about you people but I was bored. It might be because I was so tired that I didn't enjoy the show except for one or two performers. So I don't want to be too critical this time :)

The best performance I think is from David Archuletta. The rest are equally so-so performance.

I'll pick my bottom 3 based on popularity and not on their performance. I choose Ramiele, Syesha & Kristy. Syesha might go home tonight.

It wasn't an easy nights for Chikezie. With his song 'If Only for One Night' he was like pleading to give him another chance, at least one more night to stay. But came the result night, American voted him out of the competition.

It's either insane or amazing and Simon Cowell said it was amazing! That's should I described tonight's performance. And, Happy Birthday to Jason Castro! love your eyes :)

They sing songs from the year they were born but what I didn't get is why David Archuleta chose an unfamiliar song. And I was actually amazed that Simon Cowell knew the song was written by an Australian. Good for you Simon! You really know your job very well. Back to Archuleta, he was born in 1990 and am very sure they are thousands of popular songs written on that year. But having said that, I still think Archuleta did well with that weird song :)

My pick for tonight's best performance are David Cook and Michael Johns. A big improvement from Kristy Lee Cook though. She sang 'God Bless the USA' to which Simon commented a very clever song choice.

After tonight's show, I found out that Carly Smithson was born in Dublin and Chikezie is actually from Africa. And as we all know Michael Johns was an Australian and Ramiele Malubay is from the Philippines but she was born in Saudi Arabia. Imagine that! If I were the American I'm gonna think real hard whom shall I vote :)

So, who is going to be at the bottom three? I pick Brooke, Chikezie and Carly with Chickezie headed home.

Stay tuned for the result tomorrow only on Star World.

Let's say goodbye to Mr. Bad Boy! I think it's good for him to leave early before more damages occur. Next time, when you join American Idol, make sure you are clean. Otherwise, people will dig your past and you're done!

The bottom three were Syesha, Kristy & David Hernandez. I picked Kristy coz she was boring. She even said sorry that we have to endure her song again tonight. I think she is safe coz they want to get rid David Hernandez first.

The contestants' performance earlier of the result show was so dull. Luckily Katherine McPhee erased the dullness of the night. And I like the part where they answered Idol's fans phone call.

They will do Lennon's and McCartney's again next week. Stay tuned!

David's pix taken from HERE

They have a new stage this season!

The contestants were asked to choose John Lennon and Paul McCartney's legendary songs. They performed, I was tired, I was half asleep and I have to watch them all over again. How nice if they can cut two contestants each week. Get it over soonest. But it's not it. Well, I think I just have to 'enjoy' them every week.

I don't want to make review on their performances as they are too many of them. I'll just predict who will make the bottom three. And my guess are, David Hernandez, Ramiele Malubay and Kristy Lee Cook. I can even put David Archuleta in that group coz he forgot his words twice! And he didn't hide it very well. But as we know, Archuleta is lovable and I think his fans will forgive him so he is safe.

I pick Kristy Lee Cook to leave the show. Stay tuned for the result tomorrow night!

Luke & Kady

A'siah & Danny

Except for David Archuleta, they had eliminated all the teenagers. What are they up to? I think this season will be belong to Archuleta :) We have to stay tuned to find out.

The final 12 are:

Amanda Overmyer (23)
Brooke White (24)
Carly Smithson (24)
Chikezie (22)
David Archuleta (17)
David Cook (25)
David Hernandez (24)
Jason Castro (20)
Kristy Lee Cook (24)
Michael Johns (29)
Ramiele Malubay (20)
Syesha Mercado (21)

Who is going home next? Stay tuned for American Idol 7

Jason Yeager and Alexandrea Lushington are expected to leave but Alaina? I think Alaina was much better than Amanda last week. Well her performance was just ok but I thought it would be enough for her to stay another week. But then, that's America want it to be so be it.

Four more to go and we will have our final 12. Stay tuned!

Idol

The girls took the stage tonight with Classics of the 70's.

If I have a problem of choosing who is eliminated among the guys, it's different story with the girls. Based on tonight's performance, if I may, I wanted to send half of the girls home. I totally agree with the judges, all of them can really sing but it's their bad song choices.

The best performance tonight shared by Brooke and Kristy. These two were my choice of going home last week as their performance was disastrous. Watching Brooke with her guitar made me think of Linda Nanuwil (AF2) ;)

And I thought, Amanda is the only rocker in this group but I thought wrong. Carly is the girl. She out-shined Amanda tonight. Amanda is so off-pitch. Honestly, I dare not to watch her. I wanted her to finish her song very quickly.

I was so disappointed with Kady. Being a recording artist before, off-pitch shouldn't happen. Gosh, pitching ke-laut all the way. I just hope she is not leaving tomorrow as I really want to see more of her. I haven't seen the real Kady yet. America, give her another chance.

Something wasn't right with Alexandrea tonight. From the song choice to her sense of dressing. It didn't work at all.

Nothing outstanding happened tonight. I thought A'siah being the last one to perform will make up for the rest of the girls but she too was just ok. To pick a Celine Dion's song is very risky. So far, only Leona Lewis can do it.

After watching twice of the show, I think Amanda and Alexandrea will leave. Kady too is in danger but I hope she is safe.

Idol

There's no doubt about it. This boy will be in the final 12. His made 'Imagine' like his own. There's no John Lennon in it. Oh and his video on 'what you didn't know about David' - he was 11 at that time and he sang infront of Kelly Clarkson? That's awesome!

I was looking forward for Jason Castro to sing without the guitar but he did it again this time and it was no great compared to his last week's performance.

Chikezie turned into a 'pro' tonight. I quickly forgot his disastrous performance last week.

I had enough of Danny Noriega. I think it's time to send him home.

Too bad, I didn't get to watch David Hernandez sing. That stupid weather! No service! That stupid satellite! All I get was the judges were giving positive comments on him. So I presume he is safe this week.

David Cook was looking for trouble when he tried to 'battle' with Cowell. As far as I learnt from the show, usually the American votes sometimes based on Cowell's comments. Cook should know Cowell very well by now (I mean, after 6 seasons). He is the type of a person giving direct but constructive critiques. So just take and swallow them!

And by the way, they always say Luke Menard looks like Hugh Jackman. But to me, he looks like Orlando Bloom ;)

After tonight's performance, I think Jason Yeager and Danny Noriega will leave. But who knows it could be David Cook leaving. We will wait and see. Stay tuned!

The guys sang last night and the ladies just finished theirs just now. They did songs from the 60's. After watching 24 of them took the stage, I predict the winner of this season would be a guy. Opps too early to judge right :) Well, it's only my prediction. Most of the contestants can sing. But only the outstanding ones would be remembered. But then, it's up to the Americans to vote.

I like David Archuleta but it was Jason Castro caught my attention last night. Singing while playing guitar was something new in this season. Jason Yeager's Moon River also touched me. Is Jason a single parent? I'll search for the info next time. But his son looks like Leonardo Di Caprio when he was young.
Danny Noriega reminds me of Sanjaya Malakar :) But their difference is their attitude. Danny was making faces upon hearing Cowell's comments. He couldn't take his comments positively. He can leave the American Idol for all I care.

I think Luke Menard can try acting if he fails to be a singer. He has the looks. And his eyes are sexy...yummy! Jason Castro's eyes too :)
Is Michael Johns really good? To me it was just a so-so performance. Nothing outstanding about him except that he was Australian before.

The girls' performances were a little bit dull and boring. Except one or two the rest are forgettable. I thought Kady Malloy did a very good job but to my surprise all the three judges didn't agree with my thoughts. But I think she will through to the next round. Ramiele Malubay and Asia'h Epperson were okay and I am really looking forward for their next performance.

Alaina (L) Carrie (R)

Alaina Whitaker, the youngest contestant will celebrate her birthday, tomorrow with a special gift - which is, she won't be eliminated, I hope hehe. She looks like Carrie Underwood. Anyone agree with me?

So, who will be eliminated? My guess are, David Hernandez (there are too many David hehe) and Chikezie. But who knows, it could be Garrett Haley.
As for the girls, I'm guessing it would be Amy Davis and Brooke White. Kristy Lee Cook wasn't good but I hope she's staying.

They have revealed the Top 24 last week. We will see them perform this week (I hope) and I will choose whom I will root for after they performed

But my instinct, this boy aged 17, David Archuleta will through to final 12

I am also waiting for Kady Malloy's (18), performance. I like her since her audition.

Being an Asian, I am also going for Ramiele Malubay, 20

But what saddened me was the elimination of a very talented young boy Josiah Leming. Cowell said, over confident isn't good for him. But I think this boy can go far, now that he's been exposed in American Idol

Ryan Seacrest said, they had selected 30 contestants in San Diego, California's audition of the American Idol 7, to go to the Hollywood. But I didn't see them all coz it's only a one hour show compared to last week's two hour. So I watched only a few.

This young boy, 16 years old of age has a unique voice. He received a 3 yes-es and we will see him again in Hollywood's audition.

And this very 'perasan' lady was so confident during the interview. I said perasan, coz she thinks she looks like Mariah Carey. And I thought she really can sing like Mariah. Well, she did try but gosh her voice ke laut  The best Idol Reject so far!

American Idol 7 continued their audition at Dallas. They selected 24 contestants in Dallas to proceed to Hollywood. Well, they didn't show all the contestants but I made my own pick.

And they never fail to produce weird contestant. Like this fellow below, he was so determined and never give up. But he has a strange voice

And this gentleman here loves Simon very much :) He is over 40 years old. I'm sure he didn't turn up to be auditioned. He merely came to entertain us  And guess what? Cowell loves him too!
